This year’s ‘Hang-Up Collections’ Autumn Edition featured a new artist named Nina Saunders, best known for her peculiar sculptural transformations of secondhand furniture.
The multi-media Danish artist uses various mediums such as leather, textile and taxidermy and she skillfully manipulates and distorts the shapes of her found objects, transforming them into beautiful works of art. Her distorted creations are not only original and amusing, but also possess elegance and mysteriousness.
Some of her works include armchairs that melt into the ground, leaking piano, and other materials shaped into an unusual proportion, not intended for practical use. Selected pieces were displayed in the exhibit at Hang-Up Gallery in London, alongside artworks by the likes of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, David Shrigley, and many more.
