Blake Gore discovered his artistic talent during his late 30s, and decided to fully embrace the saying “good things come in small packages.” His miniature paintings are as tiny as they come, but that’s not stopping him from creating extraordinary worlds inside his itsy-bitsy frames.
Gore spent years working as a mental health therapist, career coach, and university instructor before discovering his passion for art. He was in his late 30s when he stumbled upon a social media challenge to share a 1”x1” sketch every day for a month, and he decided to keep going even after the challenge was over.
“Often drawing inside only an inch or two, I’m inspired by the challenge to create more while consuming less. My miniature art demonstrates how constraints can enhance creativity while encouraging a more sustainable experience for the earth, the artist, and art lovers alike,” he told Strathmore Artist Papers.
Gore embraced the beauty of lifelong learning, honing his skills at the breakfast table, crafting his tiny drawings with nothing but 0.15mm pen nib and tiny canvases. Gore’s versatility is as impressive as his attention to detail, and we’ve seen him celebrate the beauty of nature through his body of work, while also putting a miniature twist on some of his favorite paintings.
