Danish artist Jacob Brostrup describes himself as a semi-realistic painter and looking at his works, you can see why. Brostrup’s impressive and detailed oil paintings give you a feeling that you have a fantasy scene in front of you. But, that is not exactly true. In fact, you are just looking at realistic outdoor and indoor settings overlapping on a single canvas.
Brostrup enjoys painting old-fashioned architecture and unusual buildings that he then combines with visual elements like fallen leaves, streams of water, grass, and much more. This gives him the opportunity to create several distinct narratives in a single work.
