“YES, BUT” is an amusing series of comics by artist Anton Gudim that shows how everyday situations don’t always end up in the way we expect them to.
Gudim’s comics feature two panels. In the first panel, he draws a scene that you could never think would get out of hand. In the second one, the artist adds an absurd twist that catches the viewers off guard and makes them puzzled and amused at the same time.
Gudim, who also has a career as an IT engineer, says he draws inspiration for his work from his daily observations of the world and people around them.
“The main message is that the world around us is varied, and there will always be ways to find something both amusing and terrifying in it. I think some of my drawings could be compared to the fairy tales of a darker and crueler kind that still manage to entertain their readers,” Gudim shared in an interview with The Verge.
