Faith Charlotte’s Ceramic Art Celebrates Our Favorite Comfort Foods

Ceramic artists find inspiration everywhere around them—even in their favorite comfort foods. Faith Charlotte is a case in point, and she became a true Instagram sensation after she started making ceramic versions of pancakes, donuts, waffles, and other tasty treats she can’t get enough of.

Charlotte was still in high school when she started working on her ceramic art, and she eventually became a barista following graduation. She didn’t do this job for too long because her online store Charlotte’s Clay Shoppe was doing so well that she decided to commit to it full-time.

Charlotte mostly worked with polymer clay and made mini food charms at the start of her journey, but her creations evolved as the years went by. Fashion and makeup from the ’60s heavily influenced her art, along with the rubber hose animation style.

Charlotte could’ve easily focused on any subject she wanted, but she decided her art should take the shape of her favorite comfort foods. Trinkets boxes shaped like pancakes, cheesecakes, cinnamon buns, donuts, waffles, burgers, and picnic essentials are among her most popular products, and they look just as delicious as the real thing. Charlotte often finds herself craving these foods while making their ceramic versions, and she tends to treat herself to the real food once the batch is over.
