Fast food chain KFC recently presented a one-of-a-kind take on a classic Tamagotchi toy that will appease fried chicken enthusiasts. The toy allows you to have a chicken drumstick as your virtual pet.
Tamagotchi was a big hit in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Coming in the size of a keychain, the toy allowed the players to select a wide range of digital pets that they needed to “feed” and “entertain” regularly if they wanted to keep them happy and healthy.
Now, KFC has decided to treat its customers with a dash of nostalgia by releasing a Tamagotchi toy named “Eduardochi.” It comes as a chicken drumstick-shaped keychain and allows players to choose between 10 different chicken drumstick virtual pets. Once they select their preferred design, the players need to take care of Eduardochi’s and increase its crispiness level by feeding it, sending it to school, and cleaning after it, among other things.
At the moment, Eduardochi is only available in Spain, where customers can pick it up at a price of 3.99 euros ($4.19) when purchasing at least one menu item. If you really want one but don’t have a trip to Spain planned anytime soon, you can always turn to eBay, where they are selling from $30 to $100.
“Here comes Eduardochi! Your virtual fried friend. Take care of them, bath them, feed them, take them to the doctor, make them dodge forks (?), make them earn money, buy them a sword (it doesn’t do anything, but it’s pretty cool), play frisbee, ignore them, watch as they become gradually depressed, put a cowboy hat on them. It’s Eduardochi!” the description on Eduardochi’s package states.
