Following your dreams is easier said than done, but that didn’t stop Leah Shoup from trying. She took a leap of faith and overcame many ups and downs to chase the life she always fantasized about and become a successful travel blogger under the moniker Gringa Journeys.
Shoup spent most of her life in Atlanta before deciding to embark on a journey of a lifetime in 2014. After getting her degree in Spanish and an M.A. in interpreting and translation, she decided to put her language skills to some good use and move to Santiago, Chile, where she worked as an academic translator while exploring the rest of South America in her free time.
Her adventure was interrupted two years later when she returned to Atlanta to be with her loved ones after her father faced a major health scare. Her passion for travel didn’t fade away, so she decided to focus on creating travel content, and this decision eventually led to the birth of her blog Gringa Journeys.
Shoup traveled all around the world in the years to come, and she’s now using her social media platform to inspire people to do the same. She wants her followers to not only see the world but to also keep an open mind about other cultures and expand their knowledge through travel.
