From Grumpy Cat to Doug the Pug, social media has introduced us to many amazing animals over the years, and Moo Deng is the next one in line. This adorable pigmy hippo found viral fame after the staff of the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand started sharing her silly shenanigans online.
Moo Deng was born at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo back in July, and she became a huge hit with zoo visitors long before finding viral fame. The zoo built the hype for her birth by launching an online poll, allowing visitors to choose her name and 20,000 of them decided to go with Moo Deng aka “bouncy pork”.
Moo Deng became a viral sensation outside of Thailand after zookeepers started filming her and sharing her videos online. They show her doing everything from learning how to walk, drinking water, nipping on everything from grass to zookeepers’ knees, and simply being her adorable self.
Moo Deng attracted an influx of visitors to the Khao Kheow Open Zoo, and she’s now a star of her own 24/7 livestream, but her popularity wasn’t without its downsides. The zoo had to implement a five-minute time limit for visitors coming to see her, and they even had to warn them not to harass the animals in any shape or form.
