YouTube channel The Maitrix recently launched an amusing series of videos in which they showcased how different breeds of cats and dogs would dress themselves if they had an interest in fashion like humans do.

The series was launched with a showcase of potential fashion choices of Australian Sheppard, Beagle, Boxer, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, and Great Dane. According to the creators, each breed would “pick out” fashion pieces based on their personalities and needs.

For example, an Australian Sheppard would go with practical outdoor gear considering their herding tasks and habit to explore the outdoors. On the other hand, Golden Retriever would pick out a yellow cashmere sweater, relaxed-fit blue jeans, and comfy loafers, showcasing their need for comfort and easygoing nature.

“How would different breeds of dogs dress? We sent our nature documentary team into the wild to investigate how different breeds of dogs would dress themselves, given the opportunity. Here’s what we found out, “The Maitrix explains in the caption of the video.

In the video showcasing the fashion choices of cats, a Persian cat is seen opting for elegance based on their grace and opulence, with their clothes being perfectly suited for “moments of contemplation in sophisticated surroundings.” Opposed to them is Orange Tabby, which dons denim-prominent attire to reflect their carefree spirit and complements their cool and composed demeanor.

If you enjoyed these couple of videos, you will be happy to hear that The Maitrix put together several other clips showing fashion choices of more breeds of dogs and cats. You can check them out on their official YouTube channel or by checking out the YouTube playlists below.

Mai Hatano is a Japanese illustrator living and working in Sweden. Once a factory worker, Hatano always dreamed about becoming an artist. While watching drawing videos, she decided she would start drawing as well. She bought an iPad, and that is how Lilla Ateljen was born.

As she said in an interview for Ballpit, art is her booster of energy and happiness,” she said. “I am inspired by the innocence of animals and nature. I want to express their pureness in my art.”

Although leaving her country, family and friends was one of the hardest moves Hatano had to make, she still managed to find happiness in her new home.

“Living in Sweden gave me new perspectives and inspirations,” she added. “There are a lot of ways to spice up your daily life here. My artworks are inspired by those relaxing, calm, and peaceful moments in life that we need.”

Hatano likes drawing on paper, but her current favorite medium is digital. All because “you can use many layers and easily edit small details.”

She currently has more than 3,500 followers on Instagram, and all of her images are done in neutral colors. To see her beautiful artwork, check out the gallery below.

Like most viral stories, it all started with a challenge. Indian paper artists, Nayan Shrimali and Vaishali Chudasama, decided to take on the 365 days challenge, meaning that every day for the entire year of 2018 they would share their miniature paper art. “We took up the 365 days challenge of creating miniature birds using paper and watercolors for this entire year of 2018,” they relayed later in an interview with Bored Panda.

The idea was to express the intricacy and vibrancy of the birds around us, using techniques of layered paper cutting to give volume to their creations and add a three-dimensional feel to them. Their paper birds were then photographed in their natural environments, perched on a twig or soaring through the air.

Now, a couple of years later, and the duo is still hard at work, crafting their signature paper birds, as well as other animals. Each piece takes around 4-8 hours in total to complete, with their aim to make their miniature creations look as lifelike as possible. You can purchase their original creations through their online store, or admire them through Instagram.

Looking for you next fashion inspiration? Look no further than Margaret the Italian Greyhound. The Australian pooch can be seen strutting around Adelaide’s coffee shops and bars, all whilst sporting the latest fashion trends. Her fashionable outfits include jumpsuits and turtle necks; so naturally, she also sells her own merch.

“Unlike other major celebrities, I really enjoy mingling with the common folk,” joked the Greyhound in a mock interview with Lifestyle Tails. “Adelaide has very few A-grade celebrities like myself and it gives people a real buzz when they see me on the street. Plus, it keeps me grounded, which I think is important.”

Her owner, Anna, added in an interview with Channel 7’s The Morning Show: “We do get noticed everywhere we go. Going out for coffees, I’ll often get people tooting their horns and yelling out ‘Margaret’.” It makes sense if you judge by Margaret’s thriving online presence. With YouTube being a buzzing hub of both pet owners and beauty gurus, it was only a matter of time till these two popular genres crossed paths. Enter 슈앤트리 SHU AND TREE, a South Korean grooming business which regularly uploads videos of the most adorable pooches getting their fur carefully cut and fluffed.

You can follow their lush procedures which include bubble baths and blowouts. Aside from being extremely cute, their videos have an ASMR feel to them – a soothing experience to both pets and owners.

Regular dog grooming is said to contribute to a pet’s well being and health, and can even improve their lifespan. Although it depends mostly on the breed, hair length, and type of coat, regular grooming should be done every once in a while. For young puppies and dogs who have never been groomed, more frequent grooming or brushing at home should be done to get the dog used to being handled and to avoid grooming issues into adulthood.

An important part of responsible dog care, it also adds to your pets overall cuteness, as SHU AND TREE clearly demonstrate.

The first step to being a dog celebrity on Instagram? Be a dog. The second step? Wear a costume. Case in point: Chihuahua-mametaro. The pocket-size pupper loves to show everyone around his neat costumes that include anything from manga characters to food costumes.

“The designs are based on manga, anime/movie characters, or Japanese playing cards,” explained his owner, a Japanese woman named Semba, in an interview with BuzzFeed. “They are things that I like.”

“The main character is the non-moving dog, and my art skill is secondary,” she admits. “People laugh when they see these photos. They also praise the dog, who manages to stay still. Chihuahua-mametaro is cooperative. He’s usually quiet and kind, so he rarely gets angry at something.”

The costumes themselves have a DIY feel to them, made out of cardboard and cut into simply shapes and designs. How does Semba get her dog to wear his cosplay outfits? She simply tells him to “go home!” and Chihuahua-mametaro pops his head through the makeshift masks.

Here he is in all his glory.

As a young girl, Sarah Walsh was equally thrilled with both drawing and animals. Growing up she found a clever way to transform her early passions into a full-time job by illustrating animals. Describing her work as “quirky, happy and thoughtful,” Walsh uses anything from pencils and pens to gouache and cut paper to create varied illustrations that adorn anything from coloring books and toys to home decor and apparel.

Based in Kansas City, she shares a home and studio with her fellow illustrator husband Colin Walsh, their son, a scrappy pup, and a chubby cat. “I like a lot of color and fun things around me — fave books, artwork, toys, my happy stuff, etc,” she told Jama’s Alphabet Soup. “A big paper mache unicorn head is on the wall, drawings my daughter did when she was little.”

After working some time as house designer and illustrator of Hallmark Cards, she decided to branch off on her own and joined the Lilla Rogers agency. Amongst her collaborations are publications like Penguin Random House, Chronicle Books, and The Guardian. And with more than 60k followers on Instagram, it’s clear that people are taking note.

Check out some of her delightful illustrations in the gallery below:

LONG POST ABOUT FAILURE ALERT 🚨 hi…so this is Oona. A baby Tapir who poops a lot. A few of you might remember her. She was a big part of last year‘s 100 day project. It was a story about Oona and her friend Klinkii, a conifer tree with a special past. They live in the rainforest. Through their environment and what comes naturally to them, they learn a very important lesson about themselves and how they impact the world around them. I thought maybe working on this project for the 100 DP would be a good idea but it wasn’t. 😭 It became too much pressure and hard to translate for daily posts. Writing and illustrating a children’s book is hard enough so I quit the 100 DP and also put the story aside 😭 FOR A YEAR. But then….Fast forward to my current 100 day project. Tapirs are ungulates. They have hooves. Three each on the back feet and four each on the front. 14 damn hooves. There was no avoiding it and I had to draw Oona again. But because of the baggage attached to the story I’ve been putting it off HARD. I finally just said to myself “get on with it lady.” So I did. And I feel better! Doing this piece gave me a few thoughts on how to approach this story differently. And I made some adjustments to her as well. It’s amazing what the passage of time can do. Some distance from this project might’ve resulted in a possible breakthrough! Not a mind blowing face melting breakthrough but just enough of one to possibly change the course of things for actual progress. And in a way that is huge. For those of you struggling with a project that you’ve become afraid of and put away as a result of that fear, when the time is right just go for it. You are the boss. Show that project who runs things. CRUSH that fear. Only good things will come from it. It’s hard to believe that Yoshimasa Tsuchiya’s life-size creations are made with only wood. Looking like otherworldly creatures, his sculptures appear like something out of a fantasy book – the stuff of dreams and (perhaps) of nightmares.

In an interview with Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, Tsuchiya said he envisions his sculptures, “as if something is borrowing the posture of the animals and it’s suddenly appearing” in front of him. “Nobody has ever seen unicorns but I imagine the shape of them by knowing the characteristics of their horns as medicine and that they don’t get attached to, or domesticated by, humans.”

Tsuchiya goes through a rigorous process to complete each of his sculptures. A template is first created and then fitted on a block of wood. Afterward, a saw is used to remove the excess wood. After more carvings and sculpting, the piece of wood is then sanded to smooth out the surface. Plaster and paint are then used to finish the artwork.

Take a look at some of his enchanting creations.
