]]>A Pomeranian rescue from Northern Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, Chewy’s enjoys a busy schedule. Both an actor and a model, he has featured in independent films like Humor Me and has been seen on the set of the film The Secret Life of Pets.
According to owner Nicole, Chewy’s career skyrocketed largely thanks to social media: “When I sent photos to friends, I would put different-sized items beside him to show them how small he was,” she shared in an interview with Animal Wellness Magazine. “All the photos went on my personal Instagram and I realized it was slowly becoming his own account.”
These days, Chewy’s wardrobe includes anything from pineapple printed shirts to pinstripe straight-leg pants. He also enjoys sporting trendy eyewear.
“One of my favorite stories about Chewy happened at our first Pet Expo,” recalled Nicole. “A little boy had just got a pair of glasses and was very insecure about them. Chewy loves wearing glasses and happened to be wearing a pair that day. I’ll never forget the moment that little boy saw Chewy with his glasses. Suddenly, it was like glasses were the best thing in the world!”
According to Nicole, Chewy’s favorite pastimes include dressing up to travel, making appearances across North-America, and hopping from one sunny patio to the next. We’d love to come along!

And being the star that he is, some of his adventures have also caught the attention of the media. A video of him hopping around the Utah snow has been featured in the Daily Mail, while his college graduation at UCLA has turned viral. “Pavlov’s graduation was something that we thought would be cute and fun since the UCLA community has been such a big part of Pavlov’s life thus far,” his owners in an interview with Mashable explained.
Both Osuna and Tram have graduated from UCLA, majoring in Psychology, which inspired Pavlov’s name. “Thus far, UCLA hasn’t formally recognized Pavlov’s graduation, but if they wanted to give him an honorary dog-gree, that would be pretty legit,” they joked.

“I am always inspired by activities that interact with people, such as moving human bodies, which catch my attention all the time,” she added. “The movement and the curves in their arms form different shapes and lines, which are all very fascinating. I don’t really care about their face or their identity so I add no details other than identical smiley faces. Marshmallow babies allow me to interact with body shapes and figures.”

“The main character is the non-moving dog, and my art skill is secondary,” she admits. “People laugh when they see these photos. They also praise the dog, who manages to stay still. Chihuahua-mametaro is cooperative. He’s usually quiet and kind, so he rarely gets angry at something.”
The costumes themselves have a DIY feel to them, made out of cardboard and cut into simply shapes and designs. How does Semba get her dog to wear his cosplay outfits? She simply tells him to “go home!” and Chihuahua-mametaro pops his head through the makeshift masks.
Here he is in all his glory.

That happened when I was twenty years old… I think I will keep drawing as long as possible, even when I get older.”
Focusing mainly on flora and fauna, Takahashi says she enjoys drawing animals and nature because of their unique shapes and colors. Her artwork is inspired by her every day strolls, but also by her inclination to daydream. “I like daydreaming in my head,” she admits. “‘If I gave a hat to a rabbit, what kind of hat would that be?’ ‘If this turtle could talk, what would he want to tell me?’ It’s a bit weird, but I think these things are part of what creates my style. Oh, and I dream every night too. I sometimes take inspiration from their stories and the color contrasts.”
