When it comes to cute pooches in cute outfits, there’s no such thing as too much. But even among fashionable pups, Pom Pom Chewy (or Chewy for short) stands out. Described as the World’s Littlest Trendsetter, Chewy is committed to keeping his title. How committed? Well, according to his owner, he has more outfits than his mom, Nicole, which is quite the accomplishment!

A Pomeranian rescue from Northern Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, Chewy’s enjoys a busy schedule. Both an actor and a model, he has featured in independent films like Humor Me and has been seen on the set of the film The Secret Life of Pets.

According to owner Nicole, Chewy’s career skyrocketed largely thanks to social media: “When I sent photos to friends, I would put different-sized items beside him to show them how small he was,” she shared in an interview with Animal Wellness Magazine. “All the photos went on my personal Instagram and I realized it was slowly becoming his own account.”

These days, Chewy’s wardrobe includes anything from pineapple printed shirts to pinstripe straight-leg pants. He also enjoys sporting trendy eyewear.

“One of my favorite stories about Chewy happened at our first Pet Expo,” recalled Nicole. “A little boy had just got a pair of glasses and was very insecure about them. Chewy loves wearing glasses and happened to be wearing a pair that day. I’ll never forget the moment that little boy saw Chewy with his glasses. Suddenly, it was like glasses were the best thing in the world!”

According to Nicole, Chewy’s favorite pastimes include dressing up to travel, making appearances across North-America, and hopping from one sunny patio to the next. We’d love to come along!

There’s no such thing as a corgi without his own official Instagram page. But even amongst the many corgis online, Pavlov stands out. His eclectic social media presence includes portraiture, adventure, and lifestyle photos and videos, all captured through the lens of his owners, Los Angeles-based social media content creators Anthony Osuna and Tram Nguyen.

And being that his parents are social media gurus, his photos are sure to include witty captions and descriptions. “Icelandic dogs be like: ᴮʲöʳᵏ ᵇʲöʳᵏ,” reads one funny caption above a photo of Pavlov enjoying the snowy weather.

And being the star that he is, some of his adventures have also caught the attention of the media. A video of him hopping around the Utah snow has been featured in the Daily Mail, while his college graduation at UCLA has turned viral. “Pavlov’s graduation was something that we thought would be cute and fun since the UCLA community has been such a big part of Pavlov’s life thus far,” his owners in an interview with Mashable explained.

Both Osuna and Tram have graduated from UCLA, majoring in Psychology, which inspired Pavlov’s name. “Thus far, UCLA hasn’t formally recognized Pavlov’s graduation, but if they wanted to give him an honorary dog-gree, that would be pretty legit,” they joked.

Lily Kong’s illustrations are bright, colorful, and incredibly cheerful. With a clear goal in mind – to bring joy and happiness through her work – her art is a sort of recipe for smiles. In fact, we dare you not to smile when scrolling through her Instagram page. “Making happy things is the goal of my work,” said the London-based illustrator and graphic designer in an interview with Ohh Deer. “So I would say my Illustration style is happy, random and atmospheric.”

Each piece begins with an observation. “I observe people in a personal way by drawing them, so I stare at my friends for a bit and sometimes exaggerate their muscles and plumpness,” she says. “I believe seeing and drawing things rounder make viewers happier.”

“I am always inspired by activities that interact with people, such as moving human bodies, which catch my attention all the time,” she added. “The movement and the curves in their arms form different shapes and lines, which are all very fascinating. I don’t really care about their face or their identity so I add no details other than identical smiley faces. Marshmallow babies allow me to interact with body shapes and figures.”

Indeed, her works are naive and playful which ensures a joyful effect. Here are some of our favorite illustrations by her.

The first step to being a dog celebrity on Instagram? Be a dog. The second step? Wear a costume. Case in point: Chihuahua-mametaro. The pocket-size pupper loves to show everyone around his neat costumes that include anything from manga characters to food costumes.

“The designs are based on manga, anime/movie characters, or Japanese playing cards,” explained his owner, a Japanese woman named Semba, in an interview with BuzzFeed. “They are things that I like.”

“The main character is the non-moving dog, and my art skill is secondary,” she admits. “People laugh when they see these photos. They also praise the dog, who manages to stay still. Chihuahua-mametaro is cooperative. He’s usually quiet and kind, so he rarely gets angry at something.”

The costumes themselves have a DIY feel to them, made out of cardboard and cut into simply shapes and designs. How does Semba get her dog to wear his cosplay outfits? She simply tells him to “go home!” and Chihuahua-mametaro pops his head through the makeshift masks.

Here he is in all his glory.

Mogu Takahashi’s naive illustrations and paintings are only seemingly simple. Reminding us of a child’s doodle, her artwork adorns anything from textiles, ceramics, and wallpapers to mobile phone covers – proving that the market for cute illustrations is out there.

But her artistic career bore fruit by a sort of chance. “One day a gallery owner dropped by and asked me, ‘Are you interested in exhibiting your work?’” she told the Donna Wilson blog. “He invited me to a group exhibition in New York! That happened when I was twenty years old… I think I will keep drawing as long as possible, even when I get older.”

Focusing mainly on flora and fauna, Takahashi says she enjoys drawing animals and nature because of their unique shapes and colors. Her artwork is inspired by her every day strolls, but also by her inclination to daydream. “I like daydreaming in my head,” she admits. “‘If I gave a hat to a rabbit, what kind of hat would that be?’ ‘If this turtle could talk, what would he want to tell me?’ It’s a bit weird, but I think these things are part of what creates my style. Oh, and I dream every night too. I sometimes take inspiration from their stories and the color contrasts.”

Follow her Instagram for a pop of quirkiness.
