In 2004, Paul Cocksedge and Joana Pinho founded Paul Cocksedge Studio and together with a dedicated team of collaborators, they won national and international recognition for their original and innovative design.

So it’s no surprise that their latest project called “Living Watercolor Pavilion,” has made it as one of the finalists for the UK Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

“Our design used thousands of overlapping translucent glass discs, in colors taken from the flags of every nation exhibiting at the event – to express unity, partnership and possibility,” Cocksedge wrote on Instagram.

The sculptural artwork seems to be an “impossible” living watercolor, with light and shade changing the environment throughout the day.

Unfortunately, their design was outdone by Es Devlin, the ultimate winner for the UK Pavilion competition.
