]]> Born in Greece and currently living in Denmark, Fotini Tikkou is a mindful artist whose work revolves around topics like self-acceptance, diversity, and body positivity. Tikkou uses a combination of watercolor and pencils to create soft, relatable artworks that her Instagram following loves. Right now, her page is followed by nearly 200k people!

“My favorite materials at the moment are definitely gouache, watercolors, and pencils. I tend to use them all together in my work. I love the imperfect textures and the happy little accidents that gouache and watercolors give you and I also love balancing that out with the precision of pencils,” she told The Art Gallery in an interview. She also creates beautiful ceramic cups, vases, pots, and other objects.

Tikkou graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Athens in 2009 and has been working hard on establishing a successful freelance career since then. She’s part of a relatively new Instagram artists community that deals with topics like motherhood, diversity, and mental health, so if you’d like to support her work, make sure to follow her.
