You probably heard a word or two about speed runs. Video gamers compete against the clock in an attempt to finish a particular game or its section as fast as possible. But as it turns out, “speedrunning” isn’t just limited to video games.

There are people out there engaging in “speed runs” of museums. The goal of these speed runs is to check all of the museum exhibitions and rooms in the shortest amount of time. Of course, this doesn’t result in a great museum visit, but at least it adds a bit more dynamic to the activity.

YouTuber Matt Herzog recently decided to test his museum speedrunning skills by visiting New York City’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). He strapped a Go-Pro camera and recorded himself racing throughout the museum to see everything it had to offer.

Along the way, Herzog also gave himself some side quests. This includes taking a selfie with Vincent van Gogh’s iconic painting “The Starry Night,” snapping some photos of pop art for Instagram and buying something in the museum’s souvenir shop.

While Herzog fell into some time-wasting traps, like being held up by a woman on the escalator and being talked into leaving his email at the shop, he managed to “complete” the entire Museum of Modern in just 20 minutes and 17 seconds.

Check out Herzog’s impressive speed run below.
