]]> Even amongst the endless, most glorious depths of Instagram pet accounts, there’s one dog that stands high above the rest (at least, metaphorically speaking). With over 800,000 followers, Norbert’s cute factor isn’t to be taken lightly. At only three pounds, his miniature stature makes for only half of his charm. The other half is made of his tongue, which constantly sticks out, daring you to find a more adorable pooch.

“My life’s purpose is to make others smile,” reads his bio. “I once thought I couldn’t do anything important because I’m so little, but I’ve learned you don’t have to be big to make a BIG difference in the world.” No truer words have e’er been spoken.

Indeed, Norbert’s presence makes a difference. A proud philanthropist, he serves as a therapy dog and volunteers at Children’s Hospital LA. Over the past years, he has also volunteered at nursing homes, special events, and schools. Because when you’re this cute, it’s only fair to share your gift with others.

Alongside his human owner, Julie Steines (Freyermuth), Norbert has also launched the project Norberthood For Good. “Everyone who helps me spread smiles is part of the Norberthood!” notes the pup. “My mission as a therapy dog is simple: to spread smiles, inspire kindness, and bring comfort to those in need,” his website further reads. “In addition to my time, I have donated thousands of dollars and Norbert products to charitable causes. Philanthropy is the foundation of the Norberthood.”

]]> Every pet owner has tried to talk with their furry friend at least once and secretly hoped they could talk back. And we can’t blame them. It would be so cool to chat with your pet and find out what they really think about humans.

Unfortunately, it’s a long shot that we will be able to communicate on that level with animals anytime soon. But that shouldn’t stop us from dreaming and enjoying the works of Christopher Rozzi.

Rozzi is an artist who creates adorable illustrations of pets sharing their deepest secrets. The confessions of dogs and cats in his witty artworks are meant to be amusing but could also be highly plausible. For example, we all sometimes noticed a cat giving us a funny look and figured she was probably thinking about how we took her favorite spot on the sofa.

According to Rozzi, his dog Willie deserves a lot of credit for the Tiny Confessions project. While the two were taking a walk one day, Rozzi wondered what Willie might be thinking at that moment.

“I decided that ‘confessions’ were a funny and specific way to approach it,” he explains in an interview with Go Comics. “I also have a deep affection for all animals, which motivates me to give them a voice, albeit a comedic one.”

Since launching, Tiny Confessions has been quite successful and outgrew its initial illustration format. Nowadays, the Tiny Confessions brand includes books, calendars, prints, merchandise, and much more. Still, Rizzo regularly shares his newest creations on social media, where the project was born. It was shortly into his first year of life that he had his first debut on television for winning best trick at an annual wiener dog event, and ever since that appearance, life snowballed into that of a renowned international celebrity. Cruso has even won a People’s Choice Award for “Animal Star” of 2018.

But according to his owner and acting manager, Ryan Beauchesne, Crusoe is a down-to-earth kind of celebrity. “Crusoe is well-known for his calm, easygoing personality,” he relayed in an interview with Dogster. “We did a TV interview once where Crusoe sat on a chair in his captain uniform next to me — he just sat there the whole time, and later everyone commented on how shocked they were at how chill he was!”

Costumes are a big part of the wiener’s act, which also includes hilarious YouTube videos, where he’s seen having a blast. “Although we give a voice to Crusoe, we feel that the personality you see online is a reflection of his real personality,” explained Beauchesne. “He loves adventure and exploring new places, and for a small dog, he’s very brave. He loves to play and squeak from morning till midnight, but is also not very cuddly or kissable (hence his tough guy image online).”

His celebrity status also means that Crusoe travels frequently, including to such places as Maine, Bahamas, Florida, France, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico. “Sometimes, I wonder if Crusoe is actually a special dog or if it’s just this online character we’ve built that makes him seem special,” says his owner. “But people — even those who do not know he’s a celebrity — comment over and over how handsome he is or how human-like he is. So I think there is something different about him. He was meant to be a celebrity.”

]]> Living with an Alaskan Malamute can be a handful. Originally bred for their strength and endurance to haul heavy freight as a sled dog, Alaskan Malamutes can reach a whopping 100 pounds (45 kg). But when it came to choosing a pet, the owners of Tydus were all about going big—or going home.

“We came across the breed and were intrigued by their personality and the fact that they are not as hyper as Huskies,” relayed the South African pet owners in an interview with helloBARK!, “not to mention their amazing look and stature! We undertook some research and had our mind set on getting a Malamute.”

Their pet Alaskan Malamute, Tydus, would soon win over their hearts and Instagram accounts. But the couple already had another pet back home: an African Grey parrot named Trez. “Trez is much more vocal,” they admit. “He is our African grey parrot and has a motor mouth! He warms up his voice box every morning at 6am.”

The two would turn out to be quite the dynamic duo! “Tydus starts howling as soon as he hears an ambulance or whenever he is bored,” relay the owners. “Trez will then pitch in and say: ‘Tydus stop it. Good boy!’ Trez comforts him by talking to him while they are alone.” With both pets hilariously feisty, the two make for a great pet brand.

And while they might be very opinionated, we’re happy to follow their dog-and-parrot adventures from afar!

]]> Chewie the Pomeranian is said to be “the chillest dog you will ever meet.” Small, agile, and remarkably cute, the LA-based pooch doesn’t shy away from the camera, amassing more than 100,000 fans on Instagram and three times more than that on Tik Tok.

Known for his high-fives, Chewie will stretch out his paw to anyone willing. But life wasn’t always fun and games for the fluff ball. He started his life in China with a group of unwanted dogs, sold for consumption in China’s meat market. His owners knew instantly they had to step in and had bought him for $35.

“We heard of the breed as kids growing up, but since we never had dogs, we knew nothing about Pomeranians,” said the owners in an interview with Hello Bark. “It wasn’t until we brought him home with us and took him to the vet that they said he might be a Pomeranian.”

“Chewie has made us fall in love with the breed,” they gush. “Pomeranians are known to be yappy, aggressive and stubborn. Chewie is the complete opposite of all that. He has his own characteristics and makes us think a little boy is trapped inside this dog body.”

Could he be any cuter?!

You can follow their lush procedures which include bubble baths and blowouts. Aside from being extremely cute, their videos have an ASMR feel to them – a soothing experience to both pets and owners.

Regular dog grooming is said to contribute to a pet’s well being and health, and can even improve their lifespan. Although it depends mostly on the breed, hair length, and type of coat, regular grooming should be done every once in a while. For young puppies and dogs who have never been groomed, more frequent grooming or brushing at home should be done to get the dog used to being handled and to avoid grooming issues into adulthood.

An important part of responsible dog care, it also adds to your pets overall cuteness, as SHU AND TREE clearly demonstrate.
