– – – – – – -Usually my comics are supposed to be funny and comical, however, I realized that with this platform, I have the opportunity to spread more important messages like self acceptance and equality. Being a teenager myself, I know what it feels like to constantly compare yourself to others on social media. And if you think about it, social media is set up to compare ourselves to one another through the number of followers, likes, and comments on posts. Although social media is a great way to connect people together, it can also be toxic by influencing one to idealize false beauty standards set by celebrities who use photoshop and other self-editing softwares. Through this comic, I want to bring awareness to not only harmful comparisons, but these unrealistic beauty standards. I hope this comic helps some one out there realize that not everything on social media is real and to accept themselves for who they are – I love you all much and hope that you love yourself too
