Wash the Dress is an underwater fine art photography who has been in the business for 10 years now. The team is led by Pierre Violle, a graduate in photojournalism from the Ecole des Métiers de l’Information in Paris and worked as a freelance photojournalist for 10 years in Europe.

In 2006, Violle moved to Mexican Caribbean to combine his two passions, portrait photography and his love for underwater exploration. Since then, he has been “developing his ambitious underwater portrait project, honing his skills and experience in transforming aquatic locations into extraordinary photography studios,” their website reads.

He’s been transforming aquatic backdrops into magical scenes for romantic couples, combining natural light with flashes placed in and out of the water to create amazing effect.

The photo sessions can last from 3 to 6 hours, making enough time to know more about the couple to create portraits that represent them. According to Violle, the best photos are those when the lovers are having fun in the water, making their personalities shine through the images.
