Julien de Casabianca is a visual artist and a filmmaker. He launched Outings Project in 2014, to bring paintings from museum walls into the streets.

“Moved from museums walls to the streets,” the artist described his project on Instagram.

Since then, he has been invited by many museums around the world to work with their collections and show the photos he took of his collages in exhibitions in various museums and galleries.

Many citizens liberated similar anonymous figures found in famous paintings and pasted them up in public places in different cities worldwide.

His recent art installation was done at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art with seven-story mural featuring a sad girl from William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s 1886 neoclassical painting “Au pied de la falaise.”
