For her ongoing series called “Sleep,” Iranian fiber artist Maryam Ashkanian embroiders portraits of people peacefully sleeping on handmade pillows.
She starts with a gestural line drawing of an individual then she will embroider it onto a pillow. The drawings feature different posture of sleeping. One creation shows a woman curled up while snoozing, others illustrate sleeping with face down. Scroll down to see more of her posts.
