In his \u201cMechanations\u201d series, each part of the machine is suspended using a translucent thread and positioned to form a harmonious work of art. He was inspired to do this technique after seeing an exploded diagram of a bicycle on the back of a magazine. Out of curiosity, he tried to create the same effect using real objects.\n
\u201cUsing only a ruler and simple tools, which I still use today, I developed techniques for suspension which expose the inner workings of these humble mechanical objects.
