San Diego-based artist Catalina Bellizzi-Itiola, aka\nCataphant, wanted to make a series of paintings where the eyes don\u2019t have a\nsignificant part in her masterpieces.\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wanted to paint women having spiritual experiences, completely unbothered by outside forces,\u201d the half-Colombian, half-Argentinian artist explained. \u201cSo, I stopped painting them with their eyes open. I haven\u2019t painted a human eye since 2016.\u201d \n\n\n\n

Her unique portraits of women illustrate how we are deeply connected with our souls when we try to focus more on our inner self. \n\n\n\n
