Diane Dal-Pra’s acrylic paintings are a breath of fresh air. Reminiscent of artists like Picasso, Matisse, and Hockey but also Pontormo, the Paris-based graphic artist and painter focuses mainly on women and the special bond they share. While her composition style resembles those of the late greats, her art speaks to the modern woman.

“Women are very present in my work, sometimes in a group,” Dal-Pra explained in an interview with It’s Nice That. “I like to try to make their shapes and their emotions communicate. Then, harmonies of colors guide me during the construction of my images.”

“I don’t know if I can describe a signature visual language,” Dal-Pra went on to say, “but most of the time, I’m trying to find the balance between realism and abstraction.”

“I love to give life to my painting, that’s why each collaboration is for me the opportunity to make it live differently, on different surfaces for different projects,” said the artist. “I love to confront and bring together my aesthetics with the aesthetics of other entities, that’s partly why I love working with brands with a strong identity.”

With clients that include giants like Gucci and Rus, it’s only the beginning for this young talent.
